Love is not that you get what you want, but that you do something of importance for whom you love. Hello friends, with love, we will take you today on a nice tour in the world of love, this world we borrowed from you from the book (The Five Love Languages) by the author (Gary Chapman). The first thing we must know; that love has multiple languages and there are many ways to express it, the preferred language varies from person to another and we may have more than one language. We made you eager... right? Anyway, there is no need for confusion, continue with us this blog so you can know what are the five love languages? Enjoy reading. The first language: love with words... "The tongue has the power of life and death." Mashallah, you look beautiful today... The dress suits you... I missed you... Your food today was very delicious... The three basic rules in this language are: words are important! words are important! words are important! Imagine that these simple words can have a big impact on us sometimes, and we need to hear kind words and praise, especially if they are from someone close to us. Our advice... say what’s on your mind simply without shyness or reservation, the important thing is to say it at the right time so that its effect is big and beautiful, and be careful not to overuse them so as not to lose their value. Well, I am not used to flattering and saying nice words...!! Simple, we can practice in front of the mirror and repeat them, little by little we will notice the difference. The important thing to remember is that (words are important), and make sure that we as humans all need to hear encouragement and praise. The second language: love with time... How do you feel when you go out with the person you love alone? You might go for a walk by the sea, or go to the promenade, or have a nice dinner outing... one of the most beautiful languages of love, when the other person feels that you dedicate a part of your day and your time to spend and invest it with him, just you and him. It’s true, the two might be sitting in the same room and close but at the same time not with each other!! How so! Maybe each one is busy with his phone, or the TV, or even his mind is preoccupied with thinking about something else. The idea here is that we spend our time together with full attention (mentally, emotionally, physically). Time is one of the most precious things a person owns, so it’s natural that we will appreciate those who give us this precious thing, for no reason except that we love them and they love us. Spending your time with the person you love is your way of expressing your love and it might also be what you wish to get. The third language: love with a gift... I will tell you a secret, a gift is one of the easiest love languages we can learn. The gift, in its simplicity, is considered a strong symbol of love, and visual symbols are very important to some people, more than many other things. The gift... has a tender meaning that plants happiness in the soul, and its effect is like magic on hearts. And what’s more beautiful than a gift to express our appreciation and love? The gift... is the thing that when we see it and hold it, we feel happiness, and we say to ourselves "He is thinking of me", "He remembers me and didn't forget me". The gift is a symbol that means (I am thinking of you, and you have a great value in my life). Let us give you some ideas to help you with gifts: - Keep a note and call it "Gift Ideas". The idea is that you record every time you hear from your loved ones something they liked or wish they had, and immediately write it down in the note. After a while, you will find that you have a list of gift ideas and wishes that serve as a reference for you when you are ready to buy a gift. - It’s not necessary for the gift to be expensive or for a specific occasion, a bouquet of flowers, or a box of delicious chocolates, or even a light souvenir can do something beautiful in the soul and refill the love tank. - Give a living gift, it could be a plant or seeds and supplies for light home gardening, a different and nice idea. - One of the most beautiful forms of gifts is acts of kindness and charity, their beauty is that we can give them as gifts and reward at the same time, and the happiness is doubled, God willing. The fourth language: love with actions... My wife is the best cook... My husband always helps me iron clothes... My sister arranges my bed and my belongings every day... When we do things to serve the other party with the aim of making him happy and expressing our love for him, we are speaking in the language of love through actions. Cooking, preparing the table, washing dishes, cleaning the house, cleaning shelves, washing the car, organizing papers and the desk... and the list is long... all these acts require some effort and energy, but if we do them with positive energy, they will be a true expression of love, and also have a great reward with God. In authentic hadith from Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, from the Prophet ﷺ, he said: (Allah helps the servant as long as the servant helps his brother). To understand this language, we have two ways: - The first way: contemplation and attention, and here we must be smart, meaning we might buy a gift for the person we love but be disappointed if he takes it coldly and without interest, or we might sit and praise him and praise his work, appearance, and dress but he is not affected as much as we expect. But if we just organize his room or prepare breakfast for him, you will find him happy, joyful, and grateful. Here we understand that this is his love language, and the smart one is the one who invests in it. - The second way: if we feel that the other party is expecting something from us, or the previous languages did not produce results, let’s try the direct question, for example: we can ask the person we love to write us a list (what are the things you wish I do for you) and rank them from 1-10 in importance. This way, we will have 10 actions, and if we do one each week, this will be ten weeks (about two and a half months) of living a life full of love but in the language of the beloved. Let us enjoy turning love into actions that increase our happiness and the happiness of those we love. The fifth language: love with proximity... physical contact is one of the oldest means that reach love, and many studies and research talked about children who always find hugs, love, and kisses, their lives are healthier emotionally than children who lived long times without any physical and bodily contact. Being close to the beloved through physical contact (especially between spouses) is one of the most beautiful languages of love, hand-holding, kisses, hugs... all are ways to convey love, and some consider it the basic love language, and it is the primary source to fill the love and emotional tank, and to feel trust and sincere love from the partner. Love touches help us a lot in conveying the love language to the other party, when we know that a person has been hit by a calamity, we find ourselves involuntarily hugging him or patting his shoulder or hand, if a child falls to the ground, we quickly lift him, hug him, and wipe the place of pain. All these beautiful touches help us say to the other (we love you) without saying any word. If you want to express your love with the language of physical proximity, our advice to you is: - Hold your partner’s hand while in the car or in the market. - Do not give up on a daily hug for your partner, children, parents, or even your siblings. - Stay close to your parents especially your mother, sit at her feet, kiss her, and hug her. - Also, fathers, do not deprive them of a hug from the obedient son or a kiss on the hand and head that expresses appreciation, closeness, and love. And finally... (Do not think that what makes you happy can make others happy too, do not expect that your happiness about "encouraging words" for example is the same happiness of another person, each person has a different love language, deal with him as he wants, not as you want).
